A Life Devoted to Sak Yant
Silas van Gemert grew up in Klundert, in the Dutch province of Brabant. In 2010 his search for meaning took him to Thailand, where for years he submitted to the discipline of Buddhist monks. There he came to truly understand the sacred art of Sak Yant: the forms, the language, the blessings and the spiritual power behind them.
He received the sacred blessing that grants him the right to place Sak Yant tattoos. His travels also took him to the world's oldest tattoo shop in Israel, the Brazilian jungle, and India, Nepal and Tibet.
Today Silas is one of Europe's leading Sak Yant masters, working from his studio in the heart of Breda.
A Sak Yant is not just a tattoo. It is an ancient spiritual tradition that can change your life. Silas has guided more than 500 people from across Europe through this unique ritual. Every tattoo is one of a kind - tailored to the person, their intention, and the type of protection they seek.

Every Sak Yant begins with a personal conversation - in the studio or online if you travel from afar. Silas senses whether the energy aligns and whether there's a genuine connection. Not a formality: without that mutual bond, the Sak Yant doesn't proceed. For him, indispensable.

Step 2: Book your flight
Direct flights from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester or Edinburgh to Amsterdam Schiphol. Then 1h15 by direct train to Breda - no changes.

In our studio in Breda. Silas van Gemert, one of the few certified Sak Yant masters in Europe, places your Sak Yant with the traditional bamboo needle. Calm, personal, attuned to your intention. No routine - every Sak Yant is unique.

Frequently asked questions from UK clients
Are there authentic Sak Yant studios in the UK?
There are tattoo artists in the UK who offer Sak Yant-inspired designs, but virtually none perform the full spiritual ceremony. For an authentic Sak Yant, our UK clients travel to Breda - with about an hour's flight to Schiphol and an hour by train.
How do I get from the UK to Breda?
Fly direct to Amsterdam Schiphol from London Heathrow (1h), Gatwick (1h05), Manchester (1h30) or Edinburgh (1h45). From Schiphol, take the intercity train directly to Breda - 1h15, no changes. Our studio is a 10-minute walk from Breda station.
Do you communicate in English?
Absolutely. All communication with our UK clients is in English - WhatsApp, email, and during the session itself.
How long does a session take?
How long it takes depends on the design, the size and the placement, and it can take longer than you expect. We recommend planning a full day in Breda.
Can I combine it with visiting Amsterdam?
Absolutely - many UK clients do exactly this. Amsterdam is 1h15 away by train from Breda.
What does a Sak Yant cost?
